Karl Freyherr von Meidinger převzal principy přechodu na nové vědecké názvosloví, když v knize CHEMISCHEN NOMENKLATUR přeložil v roce 1793 knihu Méthode de nomenclature chimique, která vyšla v roce 1787 ve francoužštině, v roce 1788 ve španělštině a v roce 1791 v italštině. Poté ještě vyšla v roce 1796 v angličtině.
