Inuktun (English: Polar Eskimo, Danish: nordgrønlandsk, polareskimoisk, thulesproget, Kalaallisut: avanersuarmiutut) is the language of approximately 1,000 indigenous Inughuit, inhabiting the world's northernmost settlements in Qaanaaq and the surrounding villages in northwestern Greenland.

Tunumiit oraasiat - The eastern dialect, spoken in the vicinity of the towns of Ammassalik and Scoresbysund, is the most innovative of the Greenlandic dialects, having assimilated consonant clusters and vowel sequences to a greater extent than West Greenlandic.
